Mini's patch for WiFi V1.00 was released. 31.Oct.2005

Introduction:

The CLIE NX/NZ users in all parts of the world aspired,
it drew in the dream, and the challenge was done repeatedly.

But, it is a problem to have repeated the failure many times.

At last in now, I completed the patch to make it correspond to
a generic CF wireless LAN card.

This patch is used to use a generic CF wireless LAN card
that uses a lot of Prism2.5 with CLIE NX60/70/73/80 and NZ90.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!.
DO NOT BUSINESS BY USING MY PATCH.

Installation:

Please perform MiniWiFi.zip downloaded from the following.
And run "setup.exe" after you thaw it in suitable folder.
Download of Mini's patch for WiFi (1467KB)

The setup program is described in Japanese.
Therefore, a strange character is expressed as your PC screen.
Step by step instruction are shown in the following.

1) Execute Setup.exe
2) Click "OK" button.
3) Optional:
a) Click "??????????C" button.
b) Select which folder you want to install the patch program, then click "OK"
4) Click on the large square button with the Desktop icon.
5) Select which program group to install it under, then click "??C" button.
6) Done.

Usage:

Step 1:
Please download WL100_ENUS.PRC from the SONY US site.
http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=PEGNX60&upd_id=1064&os_id=12

Step 2:
Run "MiniWiFi.exe", and drug & drops do WL100_ENUS.PRC file here.

Step 3:
A patch aim is completion if "Completed" are indicated.

Step 4:
If patch is completed, the file named wl100_enus_patched.prc is generated to a current folder.
Please install this file to Clie with a HotSync etc.

Note: If you copied with the memory stick then please reset Clie.

Please insert to Clie any CF wireless LAN card.
You can try, and check it.

My Test Result:
It is a mistake to think that all products work.
Eight kinds of products that I owned were tested.

The operation result of each product is summarized in the following tables.

	Sandisk SDWCFB-128-768		This is Multi function card.(WLAN & Memory) Wireless LAN doesn't work and "Device Error". Memory doesn't work. Prism 2.5 (Firmware Unknown)
	PLANEX GW-CF11H		This card works by the patched driver. Prism 2.5 (Firmware Primary 1.1.7 / Station 1.3.6)
	NTT DoCoMo P-in Free 2PWL		This is Multi function card.(WLAN & PHS) Wireless LAN works by the patched driver. PHS and wireless LAN can be switched with the switch on the card. Prism 2.5 (Firmware Primary 1.1.1 / Station 1.7.5)
	Linksys WCF12		This card works by the patched driver. This is the cheapest CF wireless LAN card in the United States. Prism 2.5 (Firmware Primary 1.1.0 / Station 1.4.2)
	PLANEX GW-CF11X		This card doesn't work and "Device Error". The prism 3.0 card seems dosn't work. Prism 3.0 (Firmware Primary 1.1.2 / Station 1.8.2)
	IO-DATA WN-B11/CFZ		This card doesn't work and "Device Error". The prism 3.0 card seems dosn't work. Prism 3.0 (Firmware Unknown)

The results were five victory three defeats.
